DAY 3: Faith in the Name of Jesus

Read: Acts 3:1-26

Think: This passage details Peter’s speech after a crippled man has been healed. Peter, begins to tell everyone why and how the crippled man was healed saying, “…Through faith in the name of Jesus, this man was healed—and you know how crippled he was before. Faith in Jesus’ name has healed him before your very eyes.” Early in the book of Acts, we are reminded that there is no other name than the name of Jesus Christ that has the power to heal or save a person (Acts 4:12)!

Act: Today, in those moments when you need rescue or healing or hope, call on the name of Jesus. Make it your first action (or reaction) to simply whisper, shout, or silently say the name, “Jesus.” Say His name again and again until you sense or feel his presence and power filling you up. Also ask the Holy Spirit to give you faith to pray for those around you. Look for the needs of others and call on the name of Jesus to give you the strength and courage for them.

Pray: Dear Jesus, today, I ask you to strengthen my faith. Whenever I need help, I will speak your name and invite Your presence and power to come immediately into my situation. Help me to call on you, Jesus, if I start to worry or fear or doubt. I love you and I need you.  Amen.

Be full of faith today!
